Ian studied at UCT and UNISA, qualifying as a CA (SA) in 1994. He joined Netto Financial Services in 1999 as a shareholder.
He has strong analytical abilities and in-depth local and international experience in finance and tax.
Prior to joining Netto, his nine years of work experience included three years in Cape Town, playing an integral role in the successful turnaround of a well known national retail chain.
He then spent three years in London working in structured finance at Lloyds Bank Group where his responsibilities included statutory reporting and taxation compliance for about 70 companies.
Ian is a member of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI) and the South African Institute for Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
In 2007, Ian was awarded the esteemed Financial Planning Institute (FPI) / Personal Finance Financial Planner of the Year Award, the ultimate recognition in South Africa for excellence in Financial Planning.
Life for Ian isn't just about finance though. He is married to Ali, and enjoys paddle-skiing, mountain biking and flying light aircraft. He has two children who like him to take them camping on weekends.
